Melissa Goldate

Melissa Goldate is a legal, cyber risk management, and business development professional and community builder.

Melissa formally launched Thraxos in September 2019. As Thraxos’ Managing Director, Melissa leads all aspects of the organization: business strategy and operations; sourcing and recruitment of company members and boardmembers; strategic partnerships; programming and event planning; and media/public relations strategy.

Melissa’s experience includes working directly with CXOs and General Counsel at companies of all sizes, ranging from multi-billion dollar public companies and privately held middle-market companies to early-stage companies, to ensure their cybersecurity and other business needs are being met. She has covered a variety of sectors, including AI, cybersecurity, data analytics, software, fintech, blockchain, biotech, and government contracting. 

Prior to Thraxos, Melissa was the Senior Client Advisor at London-based cyber advisory firm ITC Secure, where she assisted US-based companies in managing their cybersecurity risk. She also spent seven years at global law firms, developing and implementing new business initiatives for attorneys, in addition to leading AlphaTech, a networking organization for leaders of DC-area cybersecurity startups. 

Before pursuing a career in business development, Melissa was a practicing lawyer whose experience includes high-stakes litigation and public interest matters. 

Outside of the office, Melissa enjoys participating in outdoor sports (especially running and tennis), attending comedy and live music shows, and fangirling soccer’s US Women’s National Team.

Melissa received her B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
